• Created and maintained serial data architecture for Infotainment subsystems, both 11-bit and 29-bit CAN, including interfaces to XM receiver, OnStar telematics module, radio, rear seat entertainment, and remote amplifiers.• Responsible for defining global strategies that are competitive and meet specific vehicle needs and managing globally used commodities as the BOM Row Manager for Rear Seat Entertainment, HVAC Controls, Center Stack Faceplates, and Infotainment Displays.• Create specification templates for each commodity as part of the Component Technical Specification, Subsystem Specification, and Statement of Requirements used in sourcing activities.• Perform benchmarking activities to determine where GM commodities stand against the competition.• Provide guidance to GM’s World Wide Purchasing to help them find the best suppliers and determine when to source a given commodity. Also lead sourcing package activities where needed.• Communicate with Tier One suppliers to understand capabilities and future technology rollouts/plans.• Interface with GM Design Studios for packaging and design interface requirements for new vehicles.• Maintain technology solutions for vehicle line teams and interface with vehicle teams and marketing to determine which solutions are best for use.• Negotiate allowable costs with program teams for commodities used in their vehicles• Lead successful implementation of MP3 radio product starting model year 2004• Responsible for the creation of a Diagnostic Notification specification and rollout on most vehicle computer modules using the OnStar module for transmission• Created and implemented a specification for a method to mine data from the vehicle using the OnStar module.
