Current• Wrote and assisted in the development of the ten year resource management plans for two state forests.• Planned and implemented the five year operation plans: silviculture, prescribe fire, ecology, recreation, historical resources, road and boundary.• Planned, implemented, assisted and monitored prescribed burns.• Planned, administered and monitored the following contracts/permits: non-native plant treatments, timber sales, cabbage palm sale, roller chopping, cattle leases, apiary sites and wild hog control. • Lead the invasive species control program on the state forests for non-native plants and wild hogs. Coordinate the treatment plans for non-native plants and train the OPS spray technician on plant id, herbicide use and safety. • Perform surveys, inventories and monitoring for timber, listed species of flora and fauna, non-native plants, fire effects, southern pine beetles and archaeology sites. • Submit monthly state forest accomplishment reports and other data annually.• Record data and maintain the geodatabases for the two state forests.• Developed and produced eight recreation brochures and two state forest brochures. Wrote the information for the state forests websites.• Planned and conducted state forest liaison meetings. Past member of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission central bear stakeholder group.• Perform educational activities as needed. • Proposed, planned and worked in cooperation with the Natural Resource Conservation Service and St. Johns River Water Management District about restoring the historic flow to Turkey Creek. • Discovered and reported eight archaeology sites to the Florida Division of Historical Resources. • Discovered and reported an old cattle dipping vat and worked with St. Johns River Water Management District to have it removed.• Work in cooperation with trail maintenance volunteers, law enforcement and other agencies.• Provides emergency response support as directed.
