Park Manager Deer Creek State ParkI oversee the management of one of the top 5 most visited Utah State Parks.

As a Park Manager 1/Assistant Park Manager III at Deer Creek State Park I had the opportunity to do many awesome things. Here are just a few of those things. Assist with managing day to day operations of the park to include seasonal staff hiring and scheduling. Project management, events planning, concessions management, and campground management. Lead Law Enforcement Ranger. Supervise two full time LE rangers. Scheduling, coordinating training and conducting performance appraisals. Lead Less Lethal instructor for the division of Sate Parks. Instructing Law Enforcement rangers in OC(pepper spray), Taser and ASP tactical baton.

I served as the Assistant Park Manager and Lead Law Enforcement Ranger for one of Utah’s busiest state parks. I performed numerous search and rescues, boat and OHV accident investigations, and drug/alcohol arrests. During this time I became the lead less lethal instructor for my division. I supervised up to 21 seasonal employees. Coordinated construction projects, organized events including Ironman, and facilitated purchases for the park.

Law Enforcement park ranger. Performed patrols on foot and utilizing off highway vehicles. Performed search and rescues. Covered the entrance booth collecting entrance fees and providing education to users. Conducted maintenance of facilities as needed to include building fence, cleaning restrooms, painting and other duties.

I spent five seasons working for the Dixie National Forest out of the supervisors office. I started as a GS-4 working on the first motorized travel plan crew closing illegal trails and improving legal trails. After two seasons I was made the crew lead. I over saw the work of several other crew members. I coordinated the implementation of the motorized travel plan in several geographical areas across all four ranger districts. I utilized a mini ex, back hoe, and various hand tools from chainsaws to drills. I conducted morning safety briefings and served as the remote supervisor for my last three seasons. My last season I was a GS-6. I only left to take a full time position with Utah State Parks.

I worked in Food and Beverage assigned to the Magic Kingdom. I was given the opportunity to be a kitchen trainer after 3 months. I trained new hires in the service of excellence which Disney is known for. Prep food. Operate fryers, grills, and broilers. Successfully completed an 8 month college internship.This experience taught me a lot about myself, teamwork, and set the foundation for my leadership journey.
