Our current CMHA Provincial Strategic Plan has positioned us well in many priority areas, including Fund Development. My role will focus on the signature events of CMHA, leading capital campaigns, enhancing third-party fund-raising, implementing the Legacy Giving Program and fostering donor relations.First and foremost, I firmly believe in the power of collaboration. Fund development is not a solitary endeavor; it thrives when we come together, pooling our knowledge, networks, and passion for creating positive change. I am eager to connect with each of you because I see immense promise in our collective efforts. The reasons behind my excitement are quite simple yet profound:Impactful Change: By fostering strong relationships, we can amplify the impact of our fundraising efforts. Together, we unlock new avenues of support that will enable us to make a tangible difference in the causes we are deeply passionate about.Innovation: Co-production sparks innovation. Through strategic partnerships, we can explore fresh approaches to fundraising, experiment with novel strategies, and adapt to the evolving landscape of philanthropy.Learning and Growth: Building relationships means learning from one another. I am eager to learn from your experiences and share insights.I look forward to connecting with many to first listen and hear how passion is navigating intentionality and investment. Secondly, I am here to share stories of hope, resilience and fierce courage. "The power of story lies in the heart of it, the place where vulnerabilities live." My purpose, energy and passion is amplified when a story connects with a donor and cultivates the investment of not only dollars but in social justice for all human beings. Show less -

The importance of cultivating positive mental health in individuals and communities through a combination of targeted and broad interventions across the life course: in communities; workplaces and schools remains a focus of the work of the CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg. It is my privilege to direct and bring greater engagement in this often misunderstood form of policy, education, advocacy, program and intervention. Strategic partnerships mirrored with innovation will allow us to have greater impact in the various communities throughout Manitoba. Ensuring that we take advantage of all funding avenues and are current and creative in our communication are critical to our sustainability and growth. Leaders transform people and environments but first must transform themselves to evolve new personal mind-sets and behaviours. Secondly, they need to transform their teams to work in new ways. Lastly, leaders need to build capabilities by building agility into the design and culture of the organization. (Smelt, Laurie and St. George). I am thrilled to have been chosen to step up and into a role that will challenge and inspire me to be more bold, empathic and resilient in connecting with environments that continue to stigmatize mental health, illness and the recovery journey. Mental health promotion is an ambitious mission and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, lead and leverage stakeholders to greater accountability, collaboration and co-production. Show less -
