Co-producer and writer of four documentaries for the NBC "Bay Area Revelations" series, including "Loma Prieta Earthquake, 30 Years Later" (2019) and "Riding the Waves" (2020) about surfing in Northern California.Co-creator and Executive Producer of "Sound Tracks: Music Without Borders" (2010-2012) for PBS, as well as the 20-part companion online series, "Quick Hits," featured on PBS Arts and YouTube. Started working for the critically acclaimed PBS public affairs series FRONTLINE in 1992. Produced and wrote 10 documentaries ranging from "The Best Campaign Money Can Buy" (1992) to "News War: What's Happening to the News" (2007). Highlights: "Rush Limbaugh's America," "The Long March of Newt Gingrich," and "Justice for Sale."From 2002-2008, Series Editor and a senior producer for FRONTLINE World: Stories from a Small Planet, both the innovative TV series and the web site, which won numerous Emmy, Webby and Online Journalism Awards. Helped commission and supervise 30 broadcast episodes.Staff Producer and Reporter at KQED in San Francisco from 1980-89, making a wide range of local, national and international documentaries, including "Broken Arrow" about nuclear weapons accidents and "The Case of Dashiell Hammett," a biography of the mystery writer. Also, reporting feature news stories for the MacNeil/Lehrer Newshour. Taught TV reporting and production at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism from 2004 until 2008 in connection with FRONTLINE and again from 2011-2012.
