NSIDC manages data for products derived from NASA's Operation IceBridge aircraft missions, and implements tools and services extending the uses of IceBridge data products.The Operation IceBridge mission collects airborne remote sensing measurements to bridge the gap between NASA's Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) mission and the upcoming ICESat-2 mission.Data includes:Data Summaries - Lists IceBridge data products currently available from NSIDC.Data Versions - Tracks changes and updates to IceBridge data sets.Instrument Data Summaries - Lists IceBridge instruments. Links to data servers are provided.Campaign Data Summaries - Lists IceBridge data collected by campaign.Tools - Lists links to software on NSIDC's FTP server for reading and viewing NASA IceBridge data.News - Lists updates to, or problems with the data.Mr. Tanner and his team are responsible for the management of this data and the development of tools for discovery, access and use of the more than 60 data products produced by IceBridge.ICESat-2 is a satellite slated for launch in 2012. It will generate close of a Terabyte of data each day. This data will reside at the NSIDC, and be managed by Mr. Tanner and his team.

• Senior Research Scientist for at the UAHuntsville Information Technology and Systems Center - responsible for both project management and new business development. The center generates roughly 10% of the research revenue for the university. • Responsible for crafting a number of congressional appropriations for Intelligence Community efforts, working with both Senate and House offices. Funding includes multi-million dollar efforts for the DIA, Health Services, and DOE.• Experienced with developing, and gaining approval for Joint Capability Technology Demonstrations (JCTD), briefing both Pentagon personnel and high level decisions makers within several Combat Commands (e.g. EUCOM, NORTHCOM) and military branches.• Responsible for proposal development, including requirements, schedule and budget development, staffing, and software engineering. Customers include NASA, IARPA, DARPA, NSF, DOJ, DOE, AFRL, DIA and commercial companies• Responsible for developing teaming relationships at the highest levels with commercial industry and government research laboratories, including the shaping and writing of RFPs, and the review of laboratory research efforts.• Developed the Privacy Policy for the State of Alabama’s Fusion Center, working with the FBI, DHS, and the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center.• Member of Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle’s Cyber Huntsville planning team – developing a cyber security community of commercial, government and academic interests.• Configuration management and software engineering for the ITSC organization, schedule and requirements tracking, and management through all phases of the project lifecycle.

• R&D efforts include Large Scale Sensor Network Simulations, Autonomous Sensor Networks, Remote Sensing Image Analysis, and Data Mining.• Leading the University effort for the PEOPLE Arctic Collaborative Environment project, a JCTD sponsored by EUCOM and NORTHCOM with partners in Russia, Canada, and Germany. The PEOPLE-ACE project provides the military real-time assessments of arctic conditions in support of both military and civilian operations.• Developing coupled models for the DIA and DHS analyzing the links between environment, socio-cultural, and economic factors for use by the intelligence community. • Developed new image analysis capabilities for the Defense Intelligence Community including daily assessments of energy production facilities worldwide.• Leading efforts in visualization, remote sensing data analysis, and large-scale sensor network simulations, such as:o The DIA funded Vantage project, a large scale sensor network in which millions of sensors are used to build a passive air defense systemo “An Environment for On-board Processing”, a research and development project to embed our in-house developed data-analysis tools into real-time on-orbit satellites for both NASA and the DIAo The NSF funded Linked Environments for Atmospheric Discovery (LEAD), an effort to develop grid based ensemble simulation suiteso Asymmetric Warfare evaluations for the Air Force Research Labs using war games for training, including their use at the Squadron Officer College

• Created Boeing’s Advanced Computing Group (ACG), within Phantom Works. The researchers, most with advanced degrees, are tasked with performing basic research and turning it into fielded applications for commercial airplane manufacturing, military helicopters, weapon systems and vehicles, and commercial launch vehicles. Applied techniques have focused on image processing, visualization, embedded systems, vehicle control and health management, optimization, design, distributed computing, database systems and collaborative engineering. • Managed information systems for the Teledesic program, an effort to launch several hundred satellites as part of a global wideband network. Developed and supported all computing aspects, including define/produce processes, computing architectures, security, computer aided design practices, training, web and database development, and application integration. Responsible for computing budgets, purchases, setup and support of all hardware, software, and networking for the program. Systems included several hundred Unix machines, dozens of Intel-based servers, and a standalone program network which connected dozens of sites around the country.• Managed Boeing’s Visualization Laboratory and its responsibilities for developing and applying visualization tools to all aspects of Boeing's operations. The lab's work is used extensively on both NASA and military programs, including astronaut crew station reviews, maintainability planning and critical design reviews, training and operations planning.• Created and managed a team of computer developers tasked with support of Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCAG). Developed a core skill capability that responds to dynamic staffing requirements in the areas of Computer Aided Design engineering tools. The team is responsible for developing a number of engineering analysis tools, including significant portions of the Aero-Grid Paneling System used by the 777 and Joint Strike Fighter programs.
