At Guidewire Software, I worked on cross functional teams to design innovative, customer-facing products using modern machine learning techniques for complex problems in actuarial science. This included entity disambiguation, insurance fraud detection, and a variety of novel modeling methods targeting an array of insurance claim properties. I was also involved heavily in proprietary research and development, where I invented a new forecasting technique using original insights in stochastic discrimination.

At GMT (later acquired by Verint) I led a team of engineers responsible for developing new algorithmic approaches to NP Hard problems in operations research, workforce optimization, and discrete event simulation. I was responsible for ongoing professional development of my direct reports, and taking the lead on research and development for high-risk, ambiguously defined, wish-list features. I accomplished this by coordinating with teams across different departments and through direct contact with our users.

In my early years at Global Management Technologies, I took over design and development of the algorithms powering our flagship product’s core workforce scheduling capabilities. I developed proprietary optimization techniques that put us ahead of our larger competitors in both speed and flexibility. These algorithms were used to schedule the employees at some of the largest banks and call centers in the world.

At High Performing Systems, Inc., I was responsible for designing and developing in-house tools to create reports for psychological instruments (e.g. MBTI, FIRO). I also worked with a psychologist to develop communication simulations based on various psychometric theories. We presented this work together at multiple international conferences.
