A Solicitor for over 30 years (currently non-practicing) and a Partner/Director for 14 years, I have significant experience in the following areas:- Personal Injury - Clinical Negligence - Defendant Litigation - Court of Protection - ComplianceOver the past decade my experience has been in multi-track litigation and medical negligence. I was Compliance Officer for Legal Practice for Fletchers Solicitors Ltd and I also act as a court appointed Professional Deputy and Trustee, helping many catastrophically injured clients following receipt of substantial awards.I was extensively involved in the set-up and management of a newly formed clinical negligence team which has grown to become one of the largest medical negligence departments in the country. This included involvement in client acquisition, marketing strategy, recruitment and departmental management.As a result of my role as Director and COLP, I have also developed significant experience in the following practice areas:- Risk and Compliance- Practice Management- Learning and Development - Costs and FundingAs Director of PI, I occupied a seat on the Board of Directors for many years, acting as Company Secretary with responsibility for ensuring the quality of the firm’s legal output during this time. In my capacity as COLP, I saw the company through a successful application to secure ABS status. The role gave me significant experience of dealing with the SRA and the Legal Ombudsman, during which time I headed up the internal Audit team reporting to the Board’s Audit Committee. As Training Principal, I have co-ordinated the firm’s training activities for many years. Over the past couple of years, I have spearheaded leadership and management development programmes and introduced an internal accreditation scheme for the medical negligence, road traffic, serious injury and costs teams.As a founding Director of Ultimate Costs Ltd, I was involved in growing a Costs company from a standing start to a team of over 50 people.
