As a result of this, financial outgoings were improved and the hospital was brought up to the standards established by Care Quality Commission.
Scottish Wildcat Behaviourist
Oversaw the care of three rescued kittens and studied their behaviour. Also, carried out surveys in search of wildcats in the Ardnamurchan area and humane cat-friendly controls on the feral cat population which have had an outstanding positive effect on the area.-Manage volunteers and veterinary staff working over a large area of land, utilising their abilities for the project at hand. Maintaining constant communication to keep on top of evolving tasks throughout the project.- Using camera traps to survey large areas of land to find previously unknown populations of wildcats and display the date in spatial mapping software to build an accessible map for future reference. This information was also used to monitor potential reintroduction sites for viability. Including prey scarcity/density, in addition to building a broad picture of the biodiversity of the area as indicators of a healthy ecosystem.- Liaised with local communities and landowners to raise awareness of the Scottish wildcat as a positive part of the environment and ensure the success of future wildcat populations and the community’s co-operation with ongoing projects.
