Group Fleet Engineer
CurrentWithin the current role, management of a fleet engineer and our two assistants, five vehicle workshop managers, one fabrication workshop manager and six mobile compaction engineers, and an additional 48 workshop employees and two workshop administrators. Working with both internal and external customers.General• Focusing on the safe operation compliance, high quality, cost efficient maintenance and procurement within these areas. Including high awareness of health and safety.• Managing my direct reports to ensure a coherent and dynamic working environment.• Responsibility for recruitment and disciplinary issues in conjunction with HR.Fleet Department• Overseeing all vehicle workshops, including vehicle procurement, disposal and special projects.• Ultimate responsibility for all paperwork linked to the vehicle and plant fleet, including the maintaining of all records in line with legal and company compliances, and the company ‘O’ License. Workshops- Fleet and Mobile Plant• On site liaison with managers and staff to build cohesion and understand with any new initiatives to successfully implement company wide.• Ensure compliance of ‘O’ License with regard to vehicle maintenance and emphasis on a high first time M.O.T pass rate. Investigation and understanding of and PRS or failure.• Liaison with external body manufacturers for procurement support and service.• Fleet and mobile plant, maintaining repair history and monitor associated costs.Compactor Engineers• Manage the co-ordinator to ensure smooth installation and customer satisfaction, and that appropriate Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.• Ensuring the maintenance and repair of equipment is timely and the highest quality, in line with manufacturers specifications. • Customer liaison to ensure repeat business and long-term customer satisfaction.
