Represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts across the country, including cases involving complex commercial disputes, catastrophic personal injuries, products liability, consumer protection laws, and disputes between shareholders and members of closely-held businesses. My experience includes regularly representing defendants in professional malpractice actions against doctors, chiropractors, dentists, podiatrists, and nursing homes. In 2018 and 2019, I was selected as a Wisconsin Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine. Representative Experience• Secured the prompt dismissal of a trust’s claims against a large, national life insurance company for making distributions to an allegedly unscrupulous trustee. The trust did not appeal the federal judge’s decision granting the life insurer’s motion to dismiss. Kriete Family Insurance Trust v. Pacific Life Insurance Company, 2017 WL 3273580 (E.D. Wis. 2017).• Obtained a $2.4 million summary judgment award against a nursing home for breach of contract, and for personal tort liability against the individual managing member of the entity that operated the nursing home for conversion and civil theft. • Obtained dismissal of a personal injury action in New Jersey for lack of personal jurisdiction involving a New Jersey resident who suffered severe, permanent injuries when he dove into a pool in the middle of the night at a resort in Destin, Florida. Obtained dismissal of a subsequent Florida suit for the same injuries based on the running of the statute of limitations in Florida while the case was pending in New Jersey.

Represented some of the world’s biggest financial institutions in litigation resulting from the credit crisis.
