The ability to motivate and inspire large teams of people, often in a direction they would not instinctively choose to move became accepted as normal. During the course of my apprenticeship I was selected to represent the company at the National Engineering Skill Competition when I won 2 years running - the best Turner in the UK 1986 and 1987.
