Retired from Bonneville Power Administration on January 2nd, 2019. I am starting a Rooftop Solar LLC and plan to design and sell rooftop solar technology to residential customers this year.

Worked in the Semiconductor Logic Development group for Intel Corporation, finding innovative ways to help Intel ramp up and sustain Ronler Acre’s D1C and D1D Research and Development FABs in Hillsboro Oregon. In 2004 D1D was, the newest and most technologically advanced FAB in the world. D1D is a completely automated FAB utilizing wafer handling and tool-to-tool wafer delivery robotics. Robots traveled around the FAB on an overhead track network delivering wafers from one tool to the next for processing. Worked in the back-end thin-films dielectric group sustaining Novellus, ASM, and AMAT 300 mm wafer processing deposition tools. I helped install and qualify nine new wafer processing tools in three different thin films areas including six CVD, one CDO dielectric, and two titanium deposition tools in the D1D FAB.

Electrical Engineering Internship at Nlight in the laser testing group. Designed and deployed analog and digital circuit improvements that reduced laser test station throughput time by 20%. Designed and fabricated new laser testing tools to test high powered semiconductor Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) lasers. In 2003 Nlight produced the highest output power semiconductor lasers in the world. Nlight cannibalized Nortel and Lucent laser manufacturing tools, bought on e-Bay for their internal system components including spectrometers, power supplies, and device handling robotics. The cannibalized components were repurposed to build new testing tools designed for Nlight lasers. The new testing tools were shipped to China for new product launches and manufacturing capability.

Collected samples quarterly at the Riverbend, North Wasco, Hillsboro, Columbia Ridge, Wenatchie and Spokane landfills. Wrote quarterly sampling reports for Oregon and Washington State Dept of Ecology and Oregon Dept of Environmental Quality.

Environmental Services managed, sampling water, streams, landfill leach-ate, migrating gases, lumber treating chemicals, and airborne chemicals released into the atmosphere periodically for various projects and project managers.

Worked in the Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon Ohio drilling groundwater monitoring wells. Learned the art of developing wells for sampling groundwater and the collection of soil and gas samples for priority pollutants analysis delivered under chain of custody to a laboratory.

Rigged and Commissioned new sailboats for customers. Services include installing new navigation and communication electronics systems. Trouble shoot and repaired sailboat electronics and systems for customers including RADAR, radio, wind speed, depth finders, and knot meters, on sailboats 50 feet and smaller.

Testing and debugging new heavy rail trains and way-side signaling systems prior to revenue operation.

Sailed on the USCGC WAGB-11 ice breaker Polar Sea, North to the Arctic in 1979 and South to the Antarctic in 1980. Worked in the Engineering division sustaining a General Automation computer with a IBM 8080 microprocessor that controlled a status alarm and report logging system at the engineering control center of the ship. The computer multiplexed and logged data from more than 600 sensors reporting temperature, pressure, RPM and other parameters, from the ships power generators used for ships service, 6 Diesel electric generators, 3 gas turbine engines and rotation speed and blade pitch angle of three propellers. Also repaired RADAR, URT-23 1 kW transmitter, and its assorted antennas used in the ships communication systems.
