 Participate, assist and lead supplier development to improve processes and /or develop new processes that will improve quality, conversion characteristic, efficiencies and/or overall cost. Engage in new supplier or supply development. Engage other functional areas in the process as appropriate. Investigate, recommend, develop and initiate supply plans across the product supply base with input from various functions. Assist in periodic costing reviews by analyzing material costs and making changes when appropriate in order to ensure accurate costs. With assistance of various internal support functions, follow up with suppliers in addressing material quality issues and implementing corrective action within the established procurement system. Support procurement commitments across the scope of the supplier base at optimum price, quality and service. Engage in new supplier development and engage other functional areas in the process as appropriate. Keep abreast of market conditions as it relates to the materials procured. Prepare communication to the broader organization as necessary. Manage supplier relationships to ensure that supplier expectations are clearly understood and performance against those expectations are being measured and monitored on a regular basis. Assist plant locations in inventory, maintenance and ordering (purchase) plant consumables. Establish and administer mechanisms for being alerted when suppliers are going to be late for delivery or cut items on delivery. Take action to minimize impact on company production schedule and alert appropriate personnel.  Work with appropriate managers to develop proficiency and skill of workers assigned to inventory control. Lead warehouse of inbound and outbound material as to support production for facilities.

 Negotiate po terms & conditions (Quality, delivery, price) Champion/Lead negotiation team process. Initiate/conduct supplier interface and meetings. Participate in cross functional cost saving team process. Champion special needs/projects as directed. Develop and maintain assigned ISO 9001 procedures and related work instructions. Support coverage for department personnel as needed. (Sr. Buyers, Buyer, etc.) Support CRCN team. Responsible for the procurement of key commodities domestically and internationally. Responsible for the development and implementation of key supply chain initiatives assigned. (Consignment, safety stock, kanban’s, po terms and inventory turns (value). Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives. Support on time delivery improvements for components, finished goods and service parts. Support development & implantation of sourcing supplier initiatives as assigned.

 Organize the activities of all personnel within the department in such a manner to obtain maximum utilization of personnel and equipment and reduce lead time to meet production needs. Ensure fulfillment and accuracy of orders to ensure customer satisfaction. Communicate employee development and train where applicable. Inform all personnel as to their performance and assist them in making improvements and overcoming deficiencies. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facility based on quality standards. Maintain a safe and functional work environment at all times for all employees.
