2001 - 2013Over the years I have been actively involved in the development of preparation equipment and sourcing and testing of accessories and consumables and have a wealth of knowledge in all surface preparation principles.Prior to the introduction of the NVQ qualification I was responsible for Training the company’s personnel who have collectively prepared millions of square meters of surfaces.Customers purchasing equipment would also need operational and maintenance training. It again was my responsibility to journey to their premises or site, to ensure intended operatives were fully conversant with the equipment functions, capabilities and safety features.In 2006 The Preparation Group build a purpose built training centre and I was part of the team providing training to a diverse range of industries, architects, material manufactures, customers and staff.2013 - Present Over the last 2 years the focus of my role has been development of Contracting staff and delivering company training courses. I have managed and supervised staff training programmes encompassing Apprentice training, Driver CPC training, Asbestos Awareness, Site Management and Supervisor training and also gained personal qualifications in the process, (DCPC, Site Management, Offshore and Asbestos Awareness). My current role is to train equipment users how to maximise production, selecting the correct tools and accessories, conduct maintenance and operate safely in a diverse range of environments.In my role I am responsible for specifying preparation surface removal and surfacefinishing on large and small projects with key clients and ensuring works arecompleted to the customers satisfaction supervising large projects up to 10,000 square meters. I have also been part of the Contracting team for the last 13 years, which includes running and doing the jobs on site for customers, I could be shotblasting, planning, grinding, multi-stripping, polishing at any time.
