Director of International with over twenty years’ experience of the successful delivery of management and leadership in the HE sector. I have particular experience in relation to internationalisation strategies and policies, international student recruitment, international partnerships and international alumni development. I am used to working at the highest level both within institutions and with the leaders of institutions from across the world. I have strong interpersonal skills and am accustomed to negotiating both internally and externally, bringing together relevant parties to ensure the successful conclusion of projects.I have successfully negotiated revenue generating educational partnerships with universities in a range of countries including China, India, Malaysia and the United States of America. In addition I have overseen the diversification of student recruitment into new markets leading to sustained periods of growth. I am committed to increasing globalisation opportunities for all and have been involved in the successful development of schemes that have enabled staff and students to benefit from both mobility and internationalisation opportunities. Extensive management experience ensures that all teams are high performing; most recently I have been responsible for successfully creating a new and enlarged International Office which grew from nine to over twenty. I have worked extensively with international alumni resulting in both successful fundraising and greater engagement by alumni in areas such as mentoring and internships.
