As a key initiative of the Research School of Chemistry and Research School of Biology, I merged the mass spectrometry facilities of the Schools. This required effective engagement and liaison with stakeholders from both schools and the development and communication on key strategies for the facility including staffing, instrument purchases and budgets for the Facility.

In my role as Director, I provide scientific consulting services to help clients understand what a positive drug test result means and the science behind laboratory analysis. I left this role after being head hunted by ANU.

As the Science and Results Manager, I managed a team of people who collated results for over 7000 tests per year. I worked closely with all sections of ASADA including Education, Legal and Intelligence and Investigations and Government Departments to provide written and verbal advice on all scientific aspects of doping in sport.

This role required specialized skills in Waters equipment to help grow and develop the life-sciences sector of the company. I undertook both internal and external seminars, customer rapport building, testing of samples and on-site training of customers through hands-on workshops and online support.

As a valued member of the biophysics team, I worked across a number of research groups to assist in the structural determination of the key proteins targets they had selected. This work aided in identification of targets for pharmaceutical development.

Research focus: Characterisation of components of the E. coli replisome through the development of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques.
