Personal profile With over 30 years’ experience in the electrical trade, I have been fortunate to combine the old school of my Apprenticeship and modern technology, codes and practises. These codes and practises are also reflected in my improved awareness of safety procedures in all aspects of work undertaken. I have always kept up with City & Guilds regulations, progressing from 15th Edition, through the 16th and now the 17th Edition. My career is a mixture of maintenance and installation and I am very comfortable in anything electrical and willing to teach and learn as I progress further. The one important change has been the need to be prepared to tackle roles outside your given Trade and involve yourself in all company activities including mechanical, stores, facilities maintenance and cleaning. The more experienced I have become the more I appreciate the knowledge you can gain from other disciplines from Site Managers through all employees, electricians, riggers, welders, fitters, machineists,stores and welfare considerations. The facilities role have covered both electrical and heating systems and maintaining correct water temperatures for welfare and office facilities. I am currently gaining more knowledge than ever and enjoying it.
