Academic experience: Development and provision of single molecule and superresolution fluorescence microscopy facilities for academic and commercial users, in biology and material sciences; helping facility users with all stages of an experiment at the facility, from experiment design through imaging to data analysis and publication. Co-wrote three successful grant applications and numerous facility time applications, initiating several research collaborations. Co-author on over 30 peer-reviewed publications and a patent (ORCID ID: 0000-0002-6304-1702); peer review for academic journals and grant-awarding organisations.Laboratory management, including construction phase, microscope procurement and supplier negotiation.Experienced external communicator - New Statesman, Naked Scientists podcast, school talks and videosLabour's Parliamentary candidate for Wantage in May 2015.
