Dphil Candidate At The Oxford Sbm Cdt
Undertook my PhD in synthetic organic chemistry in the group of Prof. Stephen Fletcher as part of the Synthesis for Biology and Medicine Centre for Doctoral Training (SBM CDT). Studied rhodium catalysed regio- and enantioselective Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling methodologies. PhD was jointly supervised by a medicinal chemist from GSK, and involved further collaboration with chemists at the CRO/CDMO Solvias.As part of the SBM CDT, I also undertook a 4 month project with Prof. Ed Anderson (University of Oxford) exploring the synthesis and functionalisation of nucleosides. The doctoral training at the CDT included a series of intensive training modules in the first year. Topics included Total Synthesis, Catalysis, Process Chemistry, Drug Discovery and Agrochemicals.
