I am responsible for the accurate maintenance of inventory quantities for the university bookstore at the largest campus in the California State University system. I responsible for maintaining computerized records for store merchandise from the time it is order to the time it is invoiced. I enter purchase orders, I create receiving documents for the warehouse, I enter and post receiving counts and I enter and post invoicing, insuring that the amounts ordered, received and billed are all matching. I also create chargeback documents for merchandise returns. The store conducts inventory counts during the year and I assist with corrections, making certain that the physical amounts counted match the quantities listed in the computer system and I investigate any discrepancies. I am a creative problem solver. During my time here I edited the merchandise transfer form for ease of data entry and I helped with the recreation of the purchase order form to make certain that it more accurately reflected the values and quantities of the merchandise ordered. I assisted with development of an off campus retail store and I worked as part of a team to develop a plan to repurpose a section of the store to sell frozen yogurt. I worked with the marketing department and e commerce manager to photograph store merchandise with my personal professional camera equipment to increase awareness and develop the first-ever store catalog. I served on the customer service committee. I have extensive customer service experience, working with store management to insure that students, faculty, staff, visitors and others receive the best possible service whenever they visit the store. During the busiest times at the beginning of each semester, I work on the retail sales floor, assisting students as they shop for their textbooks. At graduation ceremonies, I help manage sales areas, making sure that visitors find the merchandise that they want and the locations of various events.
