Following the acquisition of the factory facility by REDS10 recruited by the CEO to restructure and grow the manufacturing business with a 5-year plan to achieve £30m turnover (current T/O £5.5m) and return the business to profit.● Full P&L responsibility to REDS10 CEO to develop business, strategic direction and input into all levels of the organisation.● Stemmed losses from £750k to £200k in first 12 months and restructured business within group to operate on a single margin line model.● Removed hourly based subcontract labour model and replaced with a blended approach of full-time employees and fixed cost based sub-contracts.● Implemented new module designs to reduce cycle time, reduce design requirements and improve productivity.● Reduced average manufacturing cycle times by in excess of 50%.● Recruited new key staff for estimating and implemented CVR process to track and analyse individual project costs and performance.● Analysed the end to end process and designed and implemented new process gateways and checks throughout the business.● Costed and implemented new equipment and factory layout structure to reduce cycle times, cost, improve efficiency, reduce working at height and improve quality.● Managed the business through the first COVID Pandemic lockdown with no lost manufacturing days and continuous working to meet client requirements for the MoD and NHS.

Following the sale of the SIG Building Systems business to Urban Splash transferred over to Urban Splash to run and develop the Urban Splash Modular business.● Target to develop business from current production rate of 312 modules per annum to 1040 modules per annum by 2020 and then to new factory facility for 5000 modules per annum by 2023.● Full P&L responsibility to Urban Splash Group board to develop business, strategic direction and input into all levels of the organisation.● Detailed involvement at Board level in Development Board, Strategic hoUse Board and Urban Splash Senior Management Team.● Liaison with Governmental Organisations and participation in Government Task Forces on Offsite Construction.● Achieved product improvements of 65% reduction in componentry and 75% reduction in labour content for modular structure from design innovations.● Restructured business and recruited new senior management team for new business structure to drive change and implement productivity and process improvements.● Involved in developing the profile of the business with Sekisui House, meetings with Sekisui representatives and inputting into the new joint venture development of the hoUse brand with Sekisui and Homes England.

Recruited to run SIG Offsite Division, comprising three individual operating companies, SIG Building Systems, Metechno and SIG Roofspace.● Full Group level responsibility for £60m P&L and 350 staff, with target growth plan to £150m by 2020.● Provided leadership and direction for three different manufacturing facilities on two separate sites● Undertook full review of all businesses and developed and implemented new strategic plan for the Division, resulting in reassessment of previous targets into deliverable business model.● Closed Metechno business due to ongoing underperformance, poor working practices, weak senior management and no long-term prospect of improvement.● Achieved full integration of Roofspace business into SIG Group, following completion of previous owner earn out.● Reduced debtor days by 33% and achieved £1 million improvement in working capital / cash position.● Following assessment of Building Systems business performance restructured the business, negotiated the exit of the original entrepreneurs and with the SIG Corporate Team negotiated successful sale of business to Urban Splash.

Working with the CEO and CFO as part of the Senior Executive Team (SET) with responsibility for all operational aspects of the business. Specific focus on Design, Manufacturing and Construction, whilst also providing experience and knowledge of modular construction across all areas of the business.● Personally oversaw completion of the RAF Lyneham project (£27m) to meet scheduled occupation programme and with successful final account resolution.● Responsible for setting, reviewing and monitoring Project Team objectives and overseeing all aspects of the Project Delivery process including resource allocation and management.● Review and analysis of design, quality, health and safety, factory productivity and site operation KPIs.● Due to reduced project volumes restructured shop floor staffing levels with reduction in headcount of 25%, including leading negotiations with Union and staff representatives.● Consolidated manufacturing operations to a single site with consequent management of closure of redundant facility.● High level client contact and regular client meetings to review project performance.

Appointed to manage the business through a transition period following the early departure of the former Managing Director prior to the appointment of a new Group CEO.● Successfully negotiated over £20m of new contracts into the business including a key project for the Royal College of Music Student Accommodation (£8m) and for Security Engineering products for North Wales Prison (£5m).● Carried out analysis of business position, staffing and systems to assist in the development of a new business plan with the incoming CEO.● Regular liaison with American parent company to advise on business strength, business analysis and ongoing performance.● Researched, developed and presented 5-year Group business plan to deliver strategic growth.

I joined ModularUK (then called Pyramid Building Systems) in 1998 and was appointed as Managing Director in July 1998 with the task of restructuring the business to stem significant losses. From a loss making position of £1.6 million in 1998 the company made a profit in 1999 and from this position consolidated with further positive results in 2000 and 2001.I then acquired the business from its former owners in 2002 taking the company through relocation to new premises and growth across a number of market sectors culminating in a sale of the business to Caledonian in 2008.From 2008 I continued to run the business as a subsidiary of Caledonian until relocating to Newark to take an extended Group role in 2011.
