SAGE Automation / SkillsLab – we designed and built their Digital Engineering curriculum for the first ever digital engineering diploma to be deployed in Australia; what they deliver now is what we built – the courses cover, CAD, Project management, digital twins, augmented reality, virtual reality, lidar scanning, 360 photogrammetry.Mott Macdonald – Training of their engineering staff across a broad range of Digital Engineering practices and the development of their in-house procedures and practices.BHP – End to end 3D modelling, LiDAR scanning, 4D Planning, animation, and BIM management for several of their substation upgrades at Olympic Dam as well as the design and same outputs for their new Solar Array Site being constructed.

Managing the co-ordination of Digital Engineering Systems for SA Power Networks and overseeing a Digital Information, BIM and Innovation plan, audit, and implementation for the business – using a semi-Agile approach to roadmap and produce the best outcomes. I oversaw the full co-ordination and I had several teams running in unison across the organization as well as occasionally getting my hands dirty where necessary and assisting when issues arose. We overhauled the existing Primary, Secondary, Scada, Telco, Fibre and line design CAD and design software’s and standards using an array of drafting tools including Inventor, AutoCAD-E, MicroStation, MAP3D, Civil3D and extra tools such as Navisworks, Infraworks & Recap to pull the design elements together. We implemented a full lidar workflow for existing substation sites using Faro & Leica scanners, Drones & photogrammetry; converting to 3DMesh which is used in both 3D design and virtual reality design reviews for all design staff and field crews. Upgrading the entire businesses hardware and set a management structure in place to ensure upkeep in this area was maintained. We rolled out the newer ESRI ArcGIS system and ArcGIS online and translated all data from GDA52, 53 and 54 to GDA2020. We reduced their software costs and improved the level of deliverables dramatically. We organized storage and data speed upgrades to ensure the data traffic for the correct staff was productive as opposed to a negative experience. We worked closely with uniSA to develop a new AR tool that livestreamed 360 interactive views to the HTC Vive via AR glasses used onsite with the aim of reducing any downtime in Substation tripping incidents. I created a stream of students coming in on work-placements from Tafe, Schools such as Playford international and AiE with the aim of developing better community connections and finding future digital engineering staff members contributing primary to 3D modelling, VR, AR, and game engine management.

This role consisted of project management, estimation, and major pursuit’s co-ordination, engineering support, and drawing management. Working alongside the engineers, overseeing, and managing the outgoing flow of drawings using Inventor, REVIT, AutoCAD MEP and MicroStation V8i my role over recent times has had heavy focus on the integration and manipulation of software choices and packages. ProjectWise has been implemented throughout for joint office collaborations and major advancements in 3D substation and services design has progresses. Projects have covered secondary, structural, distribution and line augmentation, fire, and security and protection aspects. Building services projects include to date BERRI hospital, SAMRI hospital Perth airport, and Bendigo bank fit outs. Extensive use of ProjectWise has been used to deliver projects as well as co-ordinating all building services projects in 3D using Revit. BIM has been considered throughout all projects. Updating all standards and drafting processes within the Energy team and organizing processes within the team and external clients was an ongoing task.I have visited various offices across Aurecon’s network both in Australia, Asia, and South Africa to gain familiarization of working practices to assist in development of a wider network standardization in the way business is performed.

Working alongside the tenancy team to produce mechanical, electrical and fire building services engineering diagrams. Use of dialux was used to check lighting designs met australian standards. Drawings were produced using AutoCAD MEP 2012.I have a great deal of experience with the level 3 submissions NDY has been submitting throughout the past seven months, drawing all submissions to Ausgrid standard, in addition to this i am well experienced with Endeavour energy projects.Recent projects include Barangaroo, LEAP Barracks, Metronode, Mudgee Golf Club, Ernst & Young fit out Brisbane, Deloittes fit out Parammatta, Suncorp Branches, Westpac Branches.Level 3 submissions include Little Bay, Sydney Adventist Hospital (ongoing) to name a few. Level 3 submissions have included Chamber Substation designs, high voltage works, low voltage works, street lighting works and kiosk substation design.

Along with a small team of projects engineers and managers, and reporting directly to the Projects Director I worked as a Spares ad Repairs engineer, this role consisted mostly of identifying problems and sourcing replacements, planning for future problems and raising the findings with management.Other roles oversaw meeting deadlines, drafting up and implementing new processes and procedures, overseeing budgets, ensuring OH/S regulations were adhered to and timescales to ensure deadlines were met.Extremely long hours were often endured to ensure shift patterns were supported.I was responsible for meeting my own targets as well as team targets.

During the 3 years spent undertaking my drafting apprenticeship I also continued my studies training towards my engineering college qualifications. The majority of my apprenticeship was spent working with operations on-board the submarine as an electrician.During my time spent as a drafter I liaised between operations personnel and engineers, clarifying designs and alterations before drawing diagrams and modelling them into the 3D system.I would draft working drawings, wiring diagrams, and wiring connection specifications as required for instructions to operations.I would explain drawings to operations teams and provide adjustments as necessary.I would visit problem sites and draw rough sketches of locations and proposed solutions.
