Leading and managing research and development activities of new medical devices in development within the company in order to bring ideas from concept to final design. Managing resources within the department and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the design phase.

Involved in the design and development of medical devices, for use primarily in laparoscopic surgical procedures. Applying technical knowledge and rapid prototyping to device design while working closely with manufacturing and quality engineers to ensure streamlined product development.

Research area broadly focused on laparoscopy with more extensive research into laparoscopic hernia repair. A very good knowledge base was developed in this area and the final design was proposed by neoSurgical to proceed further as a Masters Project. The design went through further development and design validation in order to bring a potential device closer to market-ready solution.

Extensive research into the area of catheterisation, self intermittent catheterisation in particular. An innovative catheter solution for male users was developed. Final design proposed by Hollister as a masters project to be developed further.

Dedicated research into the area of sleep with particular focus on user needs and preferences. The project included concept generation and development of a sleep monitoring device utilising ResMed breathing sensor technology with particular emphasis on the user experience and product design.

In-depth research into the field of endoscopy and specificallly detailed research on fine needle aspiration was conducted. Following that a innovative concept was taken through a structured design process and developed into a final design.

Worked constantly towards and met multiple parallel project deadlines, collaborated effectively in interdepartmental teams (Sales, Quality, Planning, Purchasing) to develop products that met the customer’s material, size and quality requirements while simultaneously ensuring competitive price for the customer. Engineered solutions to in-house assembly issues resulting in minimal disruption to project lead-times and cost, often by executing urgent design changes, constant communicaiton via phone and email with other departments and production staff to ensure projects run according to schedule. Performed quailty checks of 3rd party vender parts to ensure correct specification of product received, assisted in after-sales technical support in order to maintain customer satisfaction, compiled product specifications, technical files and design drawings, ensuring correct and up-to-date revision of document was uploaded to SAP system for the attention of production staff, trained in SAP system, Autodesk Inventor and auditing.

The position was a member of the BOI group scanning team. The position involved the preparing and scanning of personal account opening documentation from BOI branches throughout Ireland in order to store the information on a database. The position required meticulous attention to detail and good concentration.

My position in this company is as a part time member of the promotional staff. At each event and location for these promotions, my role has been to generate attention toward the client's products and to answer any questions the potential customers might have. I then report back to the client with feedback on the promotion. Occasionally I have been assigned as team leader where I have had extra responsibilities such as assigning breaks, managing a small team of promotional staff and meeting with clients. As a member of the promotional staff team it is essential to have good interpersonal skills and that you are friendly, polite and confident in approaching members of the public.

Similar to my position with Brand Army I was also a member of the promotional staff with Verve. The aspects of this position were almost identical to that of my position with Brand Army.
