I am a volunteer adult Leader with Scouts Australia, having served in both various front-line and management positions in Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia and NSW.I have a firm belief in assisting the development of youths to realise their potential and to contribute to their communities.I am currently (1) the Venturer Scout Leader for the Lone Scout Group of South Australia, whose youth members live in rural South Australia. Weekly meetings via Zoom with many opportunities to meet together for adventurous and other activities through the year; and (2) the Venturer Scout Leader for the 4th Launceston Scout Group based in Kings Meadows, a Launceston suburb.

Construction Manager - Management of the Tasmanian construction division of the RTC Group.

Project managing (principal's rep) new builds of community and affordable housing for the Tasmanian state government, including housing developments for youth at risk, supported youth accommodation (youth foyer model), homeless women, homeless men, and essential services infrastructure for aboriginal communities.I have transitioned from being a Hays contractor into a direct employment contract with the Department (now Homes Tasmania) and thoroughly enjoying my work helping communities in need.

Engaged as a consultant Project Manager for the Tasmanian State Government's Department of Communities, managing a wide range of building and utility infrastructure projects, including a power station upgrade, a water treatment plant replacement and two social housing projects.

Short-term role to provide works and team supervision for a contract to carry out civil and building modifications to the Car Rental car park at the Launceston Airport. Role included liaison with sub-contractors, client, superintendent and car rental staff.

Completed a short-term contract assignment in the role of Council's Team Leader for Works and Infrastructure. In this role, I managed Council's Works Department, consisting of a Civil Engineer, Technical Officers, Support Staff, Consultants, Supervisors and an outdoor work crew charged with the maintenance of Council's civil, parks and waste management assets. Other contributions included the (1) overall management of Council's major road reconstruction projects (Hillwood Road, Leam Road & Soldiers Settlement Road) and (2) continuous improvement in the strategic areas of asset management, fleet and plant management, facilities management, and best practice policies, procedures and work methods in the civil infrastructure field.I was able to implement some positive changes, both administrative and operational, with support of the outdoor supervisors.Although only a short-term contract, the support, attitude and dedication of the outdoor staff striving for positive changes and improvements is to be noted and appreciated in an often fluid local government environment.

George Town Council. April 2017. Completed a one-month contract assignment as acting Works Manager, managing the Works Depot and Council's outdoor workforce.George Town Council.June to November 2017. Completed a six-month contract assignment working on project management, operational reviews, continuous improvement and asset management development, and contributed to Council's $1.3 million upgrading of their George Town Waste Transfer Station, initially providing contract management support and later as Project Manager when incumbent Project Manager resigned.Both positions were secured via AusLabour Hire operating out of Hobart.

Responsible for the strategic, organisational and operational management and leadership of Council's Works & Infrastructure Department, which delivers all infrastructure services of Council, including project planning and design, asset management, GIS, road safety, emergency management, contract management, and the capital, cyclical and routine work programs of Council roads, bridges, stormwater, urban infrastructure, waste facilities, parks, reserves, buildings, sports facilities, aerodrome, and quarries.Projects included 22 bridge structure replacements, $2.2M St Helens Main Street Stormwater Upgrade, $1.2M road intersection upgrade, several landslide rectification works, several Waste Transfer Station improvements and three streetscape projects.

Responsible for the strategic, operational and financial management of all infrastructure services of Council, including planning, design, asset management, road safety, and the capital works, cyclical and routine maintenance of Council roads, stormwater, urban infrastructure, waste management, sewer services, parks, reserves, buildings, and private works, including infrastructure-related Commonwealth & State Grant Programs.Major involvement included:# Oversaw the total project management of three new wastewater treatment plants with the recycled wastewater used for recreational areas.# Drove the development, design and stakeholder consultation phases of the Willow Streetscape Project, transforming the roadway and creating an attractive and functional central community open space with character and shaded amenity to stimulate retail, social, pedestrian and business activity.# Transforming the road construction workforce into a quality workforce working with specification and testing requirements, engineering and environmental standards, road safety audits, community expectations and involvement, and financial management responsibilities.# Organised and delivered a successful Dukes Highway Road Safety Summit, locally known as the "Black Ribbon of Death", on 19 November 2008 with high level speakers from the SA Government, Department of Transport, Police, Country Fire Service and the reknown Centre for Automotive Safety Research.

Responsible for works scoping, tender process and management, contracts administration, financial management, project management and superintending of all major capital infrastructure and rehabilitation works, including roads, bridges, buildings, reseal and asphalt programs. Development of Capital Works Management procedures.

Contract full-time work to assist with tender preparations and submissions (North East and North West State Roads Road Maintenance Contracts), updating and developing QA, Environmental Management and OH&S&R policies and procedures.
