Xedo Software develops the eCommerce platform to be found at Xedo.com, Tuxedorental.JCPenney.com and Promguy.com. These systems have been built by a talented team of .Net ASP MVC developers; the team is now delivering a new Microservices architecture to face the SI challenges that are coming from Xedo's many business partners.Xedo employs a team of 35 great developers covering FE, BE, DB, Testing, Devops and architecting. I believe I was extremely lucky to work with and learn from an incredibly talented team who have shown how to build great software within an increasingly well-executed Agile (Scrum, TDD, BDD - SpecFlow) program of works using very little external resource. Good people with a great ethos and a privilege to have worked with them.

AppShare was a technology company spun from Strathclyde University's department of E&EE. Together with the Chairman, I led the spin out and was appointed to a joint CEO/CTO role within the new company. The business was involved in developing secure Application Defined Networking (ADN) technologies for the Enterprise and Hybrid Cloud space. AppShare's technology allows Cloud application vendors to guarantee their customer's user experience and incorporate that into the service level agreement - this allows the cloud application vendor to enjoy an advantage over competitors by offering SLA's that are not only based on availability but on service and user experience quality too. We have won numerous patents for this work that extended the world of ADN and SDN. The technology landscape involved C++, Java, Javascript, Python, over Windows, Linux and Solaris, using libraries completely developed in house. All software development (installed networking applications, scalable server, software defined network control plane) built in-house using talent sought and recruited from China, India, UK, Germany, Greece, and Spain. Software developed under various development regimes (contingent on designed requirement) including XP, and other Agile methods including TDD/BDD (Gherkin+Cucumber) Scrum and Scrum+Kanban

IT driven business change & Business Process Specialist. In this period I worked on a number of projects of varying values and durations. Highlights were: Large-scale RFID technology investigation and ROI assessment for major FMCG, CRM + Complex Quote-management selection program for multinational pharma packaging group, CRM selection program for FMCG andERP selection and implementation program for Beauty products group.Roles included Project management, Business analyst (often a combination of both), Accounting specialist (ROI modeling) and statistician (RFID tag assessment project involved RFID tag, reader and middleware product performance assessment work).Company types served in period include: FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, Textiles / Fibres, Manufacturing, Financial, Pensions. In this period I consistently delivered a high-quality service that was appreciated by clients in all cases.Total of 9 different projects three of which involved returning engagements and follow on works.

Deliver consultancy services to medium & large enterprises. Completed various industry training regimes including DB2, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), RPG, Java and RHL. Projects included RFID pilot and ROI, Web Development, CRM/ ERP/MRP and others.Worked on front & back office development for Scotland's first e commerce project (Buildstore) and world's first DB2/RH Linux/WebSphere deployment.Worked with CEO to launch Scotland's first 'lights-on' colocation centre offering full portfolio of technical services including server and application management, access and control and high-availability / failover planning.

Working with Sister company of Byford Computers. Delivered consultancy services to customers challenged by advent of Internet; worked with MD to establish Scotland's first independent co-location facility. Helped companies develop disaster recovery strategies. According to the last MD (Jim Lee), I was seen by the Board as a shadow director, making significant contributions to the revenue line whilst delivering internal efficiencies within the business.

Started as trainee programmer, progressed to systems analyst, product design, consultancy. Worked within team to design and build B2B and B2C systems. Effective in UML, OO design, Fault tree engineering, reliability modelling, ROI analysis and assessment. Product and technology selection, Due Diligence.

Al Ahmadi, Kuwait

Operations Director. Hamad Al Hamad & Partners was one of Kuwait's largest oil well drilling and oilfield engineering enterprises. I was head-hunted for this role by the incumbent MD. The company at that time was making losses and had equipment reliability problems. I was briefed by the new owners to turn the business around and generate profits and eradicate equipment failures and down-time. I Worked with the Finance, Engineering, Drilling and Sales teams to turn business around from marginal losses to significant profits within one year (engaged in right sizing program, equipment rationalization program, implemented new PPM program and skills change programs) Positioned company to win major, lucrative contracts based on technical merit as opposed to price.Role was dissolved following Iraqi invasion of Kuwait

Started as Wireline specialist, trained as directional surveyor and well test/DST analyst (reservoir assessment). Promoted to Snr Engineer in 1984. Promoted to Manager, Kuwait in 1985 . Kuwait had no office and my role was to start the business more or less from scratch. I built the business to deliver an extremely profitable turnover of £12m pa in two years, eventually employing 22 engineers and assistants. At this time, the oilfield was in a world-wide slump and it was considered a significant achievement to build a highly profitable business in such a climate.Sperry-Sun's Agent in Kuwait was Al-Mulla and Husseini who head-hunted me to join the new drilling and engineering company Hamad Al Hamad and partners.

Tained as a wireline operator, then e Line operator and further trained in explosives (perforating, Chemical Cutting, Jet cutting etc). Hired out of Montrose, transferred to work on Snubbing operations in Arabian Gulf. Trained in Coiled Tubing, Slickline, E Line, Snubbing, Bottom hole Sampling, Pressure gauges (mech and electronic/quartz) and instrument calibration. Was trained to program software on VAX (VMS and on HP 3000). Was transferred to the company's Dallas Payroll within 18 months of joining the company -a rare feat
