About Stephen Boane

I am a CEO, former Chairman, and a Board candidate as an Independent Director. I’ve been responsible for growth, scale and profitability at a number of companies; often from a base that required significant performance improvement or an outright turnaround. I have been the Chairman & CEO of multiple companies I owned. The last operating business went from a garage startup to operating in three countries. Then we had a successful exit. I have also worked in private equity, investment banking, and public accounting. I always been a “TGIM” “Thank God its Monday;” “TBIF “Too Bad its Friday” high energy leader. I have a real drive to create companies that respect the market opportunity they participate in. I lead from the front with a sense of urgency, focus, accountability. I am always looking for interesting things to do in the middle market, particularly where the enterprise is seeking to scale or not meeting expectations. I find the challenges in both situations are very similar. I am Board experienced, to include Chairman. I am actively looking for board engagements.LEADERSHIP ROLESElevation Heating & Air. • Elevation Heating And Air
    Chief Executive Officer
Elevation Heating And Air Jul 2024 - Present
Purchased a 50% interest in this HVAC service and installation company to provide growth capital. The ownership of this company is aligned in creating a principles driven operation that supports its employees and its customers in a way that reflects our enthusiasm for the skilled trades and the people that build and fix things. In the first thirty days we commenced a brand refresh, implemented new field service software, stood up the accounting and payroll systems, added to our field employees via a new people selection process and supported them with new vehicles. The business is intended to be a platform for both organic growth and acquisitions. The company is at the early stages of an end-to-end evaluation of its go-to-market and service delivery processes with a focus on consistent outcomes across a much larger scale. In addition, the company has adopted AI powered, prospect and customer facing resources to enable better indication-to-close conversions. We are just getting started and each new day is something to look forward to!
  • Tanager & Associates
    Managing Partner
    Tanager & Associates Oct 2021 - Jun 2024
Formed this private company to provide consulting services in the SMB ("small and medium size business") marketplace. My professional time is divided into three areas:Executive coaching for owners and operators of SMB companies mostly around issues of leadership and scale;Turnaround consulting to SMBs that are underperforming expectations or in a disadvantaged leverage position;Corporate development assistance to individuals looking to acquire an SMB. The last item was performed in conjunction with my own search for an acquisition opportunity. This company is still active and I still perform these services.
  • Traemand
    Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
    Traemand Apr 2005 - Sep 2021
    Englewood, Colorado, Us
Traemand was a technology-enabled, international, services company driving retail sales growth in complex categories where in-home installation services are a competitive advantage. Beginning as a garage startup, the company grew to have operations in three countries. Traemand was purchased by an affiliate of IKEA in September 2021. Traemand provided both CRM-driven, consultative salespeople and seamlessly integrated in-home services. The people at Traemand used best-in-class, SaaS solutions including Salesforce and NetSuite to create confident retail consumers because their buying experience is easy. Traemand supported brand promises that started with a retail experience and ended with a service worker standing in a customer's home. "As a services company we focus on values and ways of working that create great outcomes for both our customers who place their trust in us and for our people who decide everyday to be part of creating something special."

Overhauled this HR outsourcing company through extensive process redesign leading to improved operational precision and industry leading engagement architecture. President, VGT Inc., Re-energized a deeply troubled provider of agricultural products and increased year-over-year operating earnings by over 50% through more effective go-to-market activities and selective cost cutting, cost containment and productivity enhancement measures. This increase in earnings occurred despite double-digit percentage, industry-wide sales price deflation against commodity input costs that roughly doubled in price during the year.
