Stephen has been active in the climate change community as a scientist and consultant for over 20 years. Stephen has led the development or verification of carbon offset and removal projects for both voluntary and compliance offset markets for a range of project types including biochar, soil sequestration, animal feeding strategies, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and methane avoidance. In addition to his experience with carbon removal and offset projects, Stephen is an experienced verifier of greenhouse gas and sustainability data within a range of industry sectors including oil and gas, chemical production, municipal operations, humanitarian operations, and industrial manufacturing.

Stephen Boles was the Manager of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and Sustainability Services at AET Group. Stephen has over 15 years of experience as a scientist and consultant, during which time he has led GHG management and sustainability projects for clients in a range of industry sectors, including multiple Fortune 500 multinationals. Stephen’s areas of expertise include planning and implementation of GHG inventories and reduction projects, verification of GHG emissions and offset projects, life-cycle carbon footprint assessments, sustainability planning and reporting, and assurance of sustainability data indicators.
