About Steve Yeager
After nine years at Jones Day and almost seven years as general counsel of a private financial services company, I returned to SMU Dedman School of Law in 2009.In addition to my role as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, I serve as Faculty Supervisor of SMU Dedman Law's Corporate Counsel Externship Program, which integrates legal externships at area corporations with a corporate counsel class. This fall, approximately 50 law students will be serving as externs. I also teach a course called the "Role of the General Counsel", which explores the expanding role of in-house counsel.
