Founder and Chair person Of the criminology society at DMU.A society to advance the social experience of University, as well as the educational aspirations of those interested in criminology and criminal justice. managing a close and supportive team to build a successful society that has grown over the years since its inception. I have arranged and built links with guest speakers for the society who have continued to provide encouragement and support. themes covered have been; crime and the media, international perspectives and directives on domestic violence, prison service, ex offenders experience of the CJS. also there have been debates on hot topics such as; should the death penalty be reintroduced, should some drugs be legalised, the implications of the Secure College for young offenders, to name a few of the lectures and topics. Helping to build a work life balance is a prime directive of the society. Encouraging meeting up watching movies, lunches and nights out have been just a few of the social events the society has done.furthering peoples academic aspirations is another agenda of the society, which is why i set up the first Student Journal of Criminology, allowing students to get their work academically peer-reviewed by current lecturers up and down the UK as well as PhD students. Making sure all employees within the kitchen follows proper food handling regulations, safety and sanitary requirements. Further to this was staff management both on shift and in the creation of weekly rotas. Starting off from a Kitchen Porter, and working my way up to senior management position.
