Made from an increasingly diverse mix of resources such a recycled cooking oil, soybean oil and animal fats, biodiesel and renewable diesel are better, cleaner fuels that are used now in heating systems throughout the Northeast and in diesel engines throughout the country. The National Biodiesel Board has been a leader in fuels policy work in the Northeast for decades. I lead a team of experts in both government relations and biofuel technology that will help advance the use of biofuels for both heating and transportation applications, working closely with the home heating industry and fuel suppliers.

Guided and managed outreach, communication, and lobbying efforts in four states: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine. Established and directed industry policies throughout four-state region, coordinating with Institute offices in DC as well as with member companies. Engaged in direct lobbying throughout region before legislative bodies and regulatory agencies. Acted as chief spokesperson for Institute in region, representing industry in broadcast and print media as well as public forums. Established reputation in media as “go-to” person in region for commentary on energy issues. Recruited and hired one of the foremost PR firms in Boston to assist with communications efforts in region.• Managed New England Coalition for Affordable Energy (125-member organization advocating for reliable and affordable energy).• Appeared in over two dozen news articles and radio and TV interviews advocating for oil and natural gas industry, including the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Bloomberg Radio, WBZ Radio and WCVB-TV in Boston.

Represented members before legislators and regulators on issues of importance to oil and natural gas industry. Oversaw legislative and regulatory matters in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Connecticut, including drafting legislation and developing strategy with industry partners to either support or oppose issues. Assisted Executive Director in all matters, including coalition building. Cultivated key relationships with other industry partners, including marketers, heating oil dealers and other business coalitions. Named spokesperson for industry and liaison with public on key matters including gasoline supplies and pricing, marketing, exploration, refining, fuels, hydraulic fracturing, taxes, and greenhouse gas reduction.• Drafted and rallied support for bill signed by Governor enabling cleanup reimbursement programs to receive full funding.• Appointed by Governor as industry representative on Underground Storage Tank Review Board.

Oversaw disposition of every legislative matter reaching desk of then Massachusetts Governor William Weld. Coordinated bill review process, maintaining interaction with every state agency, NGOs, legislators, and variouscitizen groups and individual citizens.
