Succinct started life working with clients to help identify and eradicate inefficiencies and operational bottlenecks within SME's. We achieved this through an analytical, first principles, approach to problem solving. Identifying all the elements, both tangible and intangible, we would design a unique solution to enable staff to work more effectively and reduce wasted time.In 2019, faced with Brexit fears and reduced associated spending on consultancy, Succinct pivoted into a specialist EU Grant writing advisory service. Using the same first principals, analytical approach, we would work closely with academic researchers to help shape their idea into a fully fleshed out proposal. Our driving principal was to ensure that the core concept of the applicant met all the requirement as expected by the European Commission, whilst presenting a consistent narrative that was easy for the reviewer to digest.

Working as the business liaison to manage commercial client projects, develop technical documents and develop operational and business models for multi partner EU funded projectSpecialist duties:Identified and created a function to manage expenditure and procurement within the group. Created the tools and structures to manage said group. This resulted in stemming loses rising from project over and underspend, increasing researchers efficacy & satisfaction by eliminating time intensive administration and recouped seven times my salary in available free cash.

I worked closely with a senior researcher in UCD in photovoltaics to develop a PhD proposal for the Irish Research Council's (IRC) open call. The application required a comprehensive and detailed report on the project aims, costs and how it would lead to advancement of the particular scientific field. Whilst awaiting the results I continued to apply for PhD positions and calls across Europe.

Worked as a researcher furthering my knowledge on Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Helium Ion Microscopy (HIM).

General duties:Developing business development tools such as case studies, brochures, competitor analysis reports and market analysis reports. Developing templates and overseeing the structure and layout of large scale tenders projects.Specialist dutiesWorking alongside the business analyst to develop and deploy a company rebrand. Including costing, roadmap, roll out, risk analysis, marketing strategy, customer surveys, gant charts etc.

General duties:Analysing business overview documents submitted by all companies in receipt of EI funding to ensure growth rates and financial targets were meeting those laid out in the funding terms.Specialist duties:Creating strategic analytical reports on prior investments in order to determine future investment strategies and give a clearer picture on the relative success of Enterprise Irelands involvement with SME's.Designing and deploying a redesign and refit of the existing hard copy file storage system. The project was completed in a quarter of the original time frame and through my storage design storage space increased by 30%.

Developed unique trading strategies based on market analysis, company reports and prevailing economic conditions to operate as a self employed trader investing primarily in US tech stocks. Each trade was passed through bespoke investment model to assess for viability before being executed.

General responsibilitiesResponsible for clearing a backlog of work brought on by the financial crisis as well as monitoring and reporting on the companies liquidity, market and credit risk exposure. Specialst duties.Streamlining and overhauling the existing excel based reporting system. Utilising my logical and analytical skills I was able to take existing workbook of forty two sheets and rebuild it using only seven sheets which resulted in a reduction of report time from seven working days to two.

General dutiesFollowing the acquisition of Sacshen LBE by LBBW I was part of the transition team ensuring a smooth integration of Sachsens Assets into LBBW's portfolio. Joining a larger risk team I continued my duties as from Sachsen expanding to take on a larger portfolio of funds.Specialist duties:Fund Manager of a publicly traded multi billion euro fund overseeing daily NAV calculation and publication to ISE, cash reconciliation and ensuring all regulatory requirements were met. Working with partners in three financial institutions across Europe and the USA to ensure the fund grew within expected guidelines. As fund manager I was responsible for ensuring any potential bottle necks or delays in the report, both internally and with the fund accountanting and administrating partners, were addressed quickly to ensure daily NAV was published.

General dutiesResponsible for integrity of all prices and credit rating obtained for valuing assets under management. Monitoring the daily data across five sources and ~1000 instruments for any patterns or unusual movements. Cross referencing any movements across vintages, structures, providers and instrument type and using this information to build up a picture of anomalous behaviour. Generating the weekly, monthly and yearly risk reports on all funds and presenting the information to senior management.Specialist duties:Working with IT to develop a database so as to allow end users of reports access to daily updates rather than the once a week report being generated by the existing excel based system. This provided greater visibility on investment positions for portfolio managers and traders, giving them greater insight before making investments
