I'm a computational designer with a deep curiosity about how the tools we use shape our work. I'm interested in learning how to make the designer/fabricator pipeline as seamless as possible.I also have a background in education and love exchanging tips and workflows that help us get ideas out of our heads and into a project. As a designer, I work primarily in Rhino and Grasshopper to draft, model, analyze, visualize, and fabricate models of architectural designs. I also use Rhino Inside Revit to leverage high-caliber design tools natively in our working Revit models. As a member of NBBJ Digital, I also train and advocate for data-driven design at a project and studio level, and I create, maintain, and train people on tools that can be deployed by any Rhino user. I support NBBJ's early investigations into emerging fields, help organize local and firmwide lectures, and orient new Columbus designers to our digital resources.

Architectural DesignerDesignlevel Llc Apr 2023 - PresentColumbus, Ohio Metropolitan AreaThis role is responsible for planning, designing, representing, and documenting highly-specialized medical facilities for zoos and hospitals. Additionally, in this role I coordinate with clients and consultants, design workflows which leverage technology to accelerate project schedules, and use data-driven design principles that help us deliver state-of-the-art buildings that feel good to work in. -

Graduate Teaching Assistant - Studio 1Cornell University College Of Architecture, Art, And Planning Aug 2018 - Dec 2018Ithaca, New YorkThis course set the tone for Cornell’s M.Arch 1 program while accommodating students with diverse architectural and non-architectural backgrounds. I gave administrative support to faculty, conceptual and technical advice to students, and introduced foundational design and visualization tools by creating tutorials related to studio deliverables. -
Research StudentRobotic Construction Lab Nov 2016 - Dec 2018Ithaca, New York AreaOur lab investigated how to process standard architectural materials in innovative ways to leverage unique mechanical properties of fabrication tools. Finished elements are imbued with a sense of ornamentation intrinsic to the fabrication process itself. The bulk of my work was in sub-additive concrete 3D printing, a process invented in our lab which uses a removable support aggregate for non-planar printing in the z-axis. Concrete was printed with a lab-built 8'x16' 3D printer and a robot arm with a concrete-pump end effector to create full-scale architectural pieces. Work from RCL has been consistently recognized for its aesthetic and technical merit; in 2018, work developed and manufactured by RCL won the Architectural League of New York’s Form/Folly competition and Cornell’s Council for the Arts Biennial competition. Additionally, our research was awarded two presentation slots at ACADIA 2018 and two workshop presentations at Rob|Arch 2018, in which the presentation team received special commendation for the educational merit of our research.

Student InternWsa Studio Jun 2018 - Aug 2018Columbus, OhioIn addition to general support work with schedules, technical drawings, and modeling in Revit, I participated in conceptual design of several projects; conducted primary research, site documentation, and client-facing analytical graphics of a historic district; made models, renderings, and diagrams for clients and proposals; and wrote studio-specific tutorials for Lumion and MakerBot. -
Graduate Teaching Assistant - Constructed Drawing IiCornell University College Of Architecture, Art, And Planning Jan 2018 - May 2018Ithaca, New YorkThis class emphasized drawing as an exploratory tool to drive the design process in a powerful way. I helped students understand computational thinking through the lens of constructed drawing by creating a series of tutorials, eventually culminating in script-driven renderings and animations with atmospheric qualities to emphasize their projects’ design elements. -
Director Of Special ProgramsHaugland Learning Center Apr 2013 - Aug 2015Columbus, OhioI independently planned and implemented complex programs that blended education, leisure, and life skills into fun experiences for children with special needs aged four to twenty-two, while also giving college students valuable experience working in the field of behavior analysis. I created and ran both an activities-oriented summer camp for 100+ students across the ASD spectrum and an after-school activities program with diverse course offerings which challenged students to develop leisure skills and new interests. Programs relied heavily on behavioral analysis and data-directed decision making. Additional duties included coaching a OHSAA bowling team, training swim instructors and lifeguards in adapted lessons, maintaining Red Cross certification for all HLC staff (100+), directly supervising and training a seasonal staff of 12 to 35, event planning, and designing official marketing and correspondence materials.
