About Stephen Cottell

I have an analytical, learning mindset with a strong interest in risk management, business efficiency and improving customer experience in the financial services sector. I am currently the Head of Retail Credit Services Crime in Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Group, Macquarie’s retail banking and financial services business that provides a diverse range of personal banking, wealth management, business banking and vehicle finance products and services to retail clients, advisers, brokers and business clients.  This role is building on my experience in Business Improvement and the COO functions, which I have held at Macquarie since 1995. I am committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our workplace. At Macquarie we value the innovation and creativity that diversity of thought brings. Within BFS, I sit on our Wellbeing Employee Network Group, and am passionate about the wellbeing of our staff. I am a keen surfer, swimmer and snowboarder and enjoy most sporting activities. I am married with two children who are my priority and my support.
