Over the course of my University career I have been a member of the University of Portsmouth Hockey Club where I have held numerous committee positions. These included, team captain and club captain and tour secretary. I was also appointed as club president for the 2011/12 season.Some of the duties for being president and club captain include:• Overseeing the smooth running of the club• Delegating roles to other committee members• Responsible for training and coaching of all teams• Ensuring the safety and smooth running of the annual sports tourI had also taken on additional responsibilities outside of Hockey including representing students on the Athletics Union Executive Committee. I had been the RAG co-ordinator from Sept 2009 – July 2010 with duties focussed around raising money for local and national charities with the sports teams throughout the University.I was also voted as the Athletics Union Executive Chair for my final academic year Sept 2011-July 2012. This role meant I was the direct link between students and the president of sport. In the president’s absence, I then fulfilled the role.During my terms in office as AU Chair and President of the hockey club, I successfully lead the club to being awarded as the club of the year at the annual awards dinner. This feat had not been achieved for the club in over a decade. Furthermore, my commitment and dedication for all of my roles was also rewarded with a personal recognition of exemplar service towards the Athletic Union
