Management of three distinct teams of infrastructure technical support staff responsible for:- Provision of Active Directory infrastructure services throughout the EMEA region, supporting some 60,000 staff, and associated core infrastructure shared services.- Management of the Wintel and Solaris support for the Citigroup’s UK internet bank ‘Egg’.- Management of more than 20 permanent and contract staff both co-located and in remote locations using direct and matrix management models. - Leadership of the Wintel function in the region, interfacing with global counterparts in operations and engineering, along with internal customers.- Over 1300 Windows, Solaris, VMware and Citrix servers supported.- Adherence to corporate IT management policy and standards and the definition of in-region standards.Key achievements:- Successfully led the technology group through a region-wide internal audit during 2008 with no resulting issues found.- Directed work to close several internal audit identified gaps in the Egg bank’s technology operations following Citi’s purchase of this business, with issues closed out on time.- Provided direction on work to harmonise and consolidate risk control processes across multiple teams.

Management of the Wintel server team providing file storage and print services to the back- and middle-office groups in mainland UK whilst the permananent manager for this group was appointed.Third-line support responsibilities included: - Providing leadership on risk and control to peer Wintel teams.- Respresentation for the group on business continuity aspects.- Installation of HP OVCM (Radia) in-region pilot infrastructure.- Advising file/print support team.- Development of a regional tool set for standardised file/print environment management.

Management of a team of Wintel system administrators responsible for provision of file storage and print services to back- and middle-office businesses in the UK. Responsibilities included:- Management of team, including: o Responsible for all HR related activity for team members, including development plans, appraisals & goal setting. o Completion of compliance activity including review and signoff of quarterly compliance checks for the region. o Direction of team activity and workload prioritisation. o Promoting staff mobility by arranging secondments into the team.- Setting up the off-shoring of team members to an external service provider in India for cost savings. This included creation of statements of work, candidate selection, startup training and bedding in of the operation.- Co-ordination of submissions for entity during internal audit in 2006.- Involvement in regional activities, including raising management awareness of compliance issues and risk acceptance documentation, along with creation and implementation of regional checks.- Ensuring that business continuity procedures, documentation and milestones are accomplished.- Management of circa 35 TB of office automation data, including seamless migration / re-organisations.- Management of circa 2 000 windows print queues.- Developement of a tool to automate aspects of the standardised Wintel support environment.- Member of a team to formulate a global best practise guide for managment of file and print data space, providing technical input to the definition and presenting the proposal to senior global leads.

This position included two roles: - Management of the regional NetWare infrastructure core infrastructure servers and directory services.- Windows Systems Administration.Key responsibilites and task highlights during this time included:- Operational support and upgrades to the NetWare infrastructure - Decomissioning NetWare infrastructure and directory services in the EMEA region.- Installation and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows server operating systems.- Completion of regular risk control tests, and definition of new group-specific controls and tests, providing leadership to peer teams.- Migration of business data to new storage locations- Migration of NT4 clusters and stand-alone servers to Windows 2000 server.- Ownership of the server patch and software installation responsibilities for the team- Revision of business continuity technical recovery plans for the team.- Installation of servers in new branch office locations, decomissioning of systems due to branch closures.- Migration and restructuring of data from UK Diners Club business into the Citi corporate network.- Interviewing candidates for employment in the team, and completing the onboarding of successfull staff.- Providing day-to-day operational leadership to the team.- Providing coaching to junior members in the team.

Incorporating organisation name changes and reconsitutions from InCity Ltd, Blue (Europe), Alabama Technology to Netstat over the above period.Responsibilities included: - Providing end-to-end IT support to multiple small business clients.- Technical leadership to fellow Microsoft support engineers.- System specification and recommendation.- Office / system relocations.- Email server specification, installation and configuration.- System configuration review and optimisation.- Reconfiguration of networks from bridged to routed mode.

NetWare Systems Administrator - Technical Support Services.- The position included administration of NetWare 4.x servers running in Bindery (NetWare 3) emulation. - Participation in the design of the campus-wide directory services implementation.- Installation / configuration of student microlabs.- Testing and defining installation steps for NetWare clients for Windows 9x PCs at the university.- Participation in standards definition for the NetWare environment.- Providing training to both academic and support staff on PC, network and email usage.
