He has spent 40 years in higher education working for The Johns Hopkins University, Boston College, MIT, Union College, University of Rochester and the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked on eight campaigns, including the $2B Campaign for MIT which ran from 1998 to 2004, and the $5B Power of Penn Campaign which concluded in 2021. He is a graduate of Rowan University with a BA in Communications and a MA in Educational Public Relations. In addition he has leadership certificates from MIT and Harvard University.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer, this position provides strategic direction and leadership to all Advancement staff deployed to the academic programs (not including Medical Center), which includes the School of Arts and Sciences, Hajim School of Engineering, Eastman School of Music, Simon School of Business, Warner School of Education, and the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester. Also, Foundation Relations, the Center for Business Engagement and Gift Planning, report to this position. In addition, this position supports initiatives within "The Meliora Challenge", a campaign to raise $1.2B. In June, 2016, the campaign ended exceeding the original goal and reaching $1.37B. From FY14-16, we have met and exceeded all cash and commitment goals each FY.
