Led the development of MC's learning strategy for Youth Employment and first Green Jobs strategy

I led Challenges strategic research work across five country offices and our programme innovation (MERL) work related to SMEs, entrepreneurship and employment systems programming in emerging markets. I also lead the Rwanda Coffee Value Chain and Market Strengthening programme.

As Research Officer, I provided research, consultancy and knowledge services to donors, NGOs, private foundations focused on rural development, youth entrepreneurship and employment initiatives. My research focused on youth livelihoods: rural development,; employment and entrepreneurship, school-to-work transitions, social protectionIDS is a global leader in research for International Development. In partnership with the University of Sussex, IDS is ranked first in the world for development studies by the QS University Rankings.

Levelling up on my international development project management experiences, I joined OPM as a PRINCE2 Practitioner to support the project management functions of high-net-worth programming. I specialised in national-scale surveys and evaluation; and education programming across Africa. I was responsible to a portfolio of £13+ million of projects.

TeachAid delivered essential first aid training to NGO staff around the world, equipping professionals and training them to scale up and deliver further training through partnered capacity building.

In partnership with local education ministries, I set up and managed intervention programs in schools in Ghana. The programs focused on improving academic attainment of Junior and Senior High School students. Similarly, I co-developed the pilot of a new Expo entrepreneurship program equipping young Ghanaian's with business development and entrepreneurship skills. I also worked on setting up a multi-stakeholder partnership between Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the regional Ministry of Education focusing on evaluating the impacts and constraints on education in the region.

I managed the facilitation of Pamoja's M&E training courses. I also contributed to consultancies providing research, data analysis, and report writing. Thematic focus: M&E, Education, and NGO capacity building.

Responding to the problems of poor service utilization and uptake of services by the homeless community in Exeter. I developed an online mapping platform to improve community services awareness and availability to those living in crisis. Using crowd-sourcing methodology SMS and RSS feeds, public were are able to map the city services by: location; type; opening days and times; eligibility; referrals. Collaborations between public service providers and users were able to interface with the resource to plan better access and uptake.

Managing and supporting Exeter YMCA community development projects across North Devon including: youth homelessness, education, employment, mentoring and community empowerment initiatives.

Curious about the role of tech and resilience of SSFs, I won the Nicola Anderson Scholar grant to successfully partner with local and regional NGOs and government authorities in Tanzania to lead a research programme into the use of web 2.0, communication and GIS technologies to support small scale farmer adaptations to climate change. The research supported: Kilimanjaro Environmental Development Association (KEDA); Selian Agricultural Research Institute; Ministry of Agriculture, and the Arusha and Moshi district governments.
