After 26+ years of representing clients in a multitude of Real Estate transactions, I have joined the Home Abstract Corp. family to serve as their Counsel. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to representing my clients' overall needs when assessing a particular Real Estate matter. In some cases that required me to advise against proceeding with a particular transaction. Before counseling each client, I always asked myself the same question - "If this was my family member, would I give the same advice?" That strategy will continue to serve me well at Home Abstract Corp. where the core foundation is to treat each client as a person; making them an extended member of our family.

As a Partner in the Real Estate department I was privileged to work with some of the finest attorneys in the real estate industry. Our team was committed to provide our clients with the best possible legal representation in connection with their real estate transactional and litigation matters. My practice focused on the transactional side; handling all manners of complex commercial and residential lease negotiations, business transactions and real property purchase and sale contracts. In addition, I oversaw our portfolio of Cooperative Corporation clients, which representation included, but was not limited to, negotiation of an assortment of AIA construction contracts, vendor Agreements, Proprietary Lease and ByLaw Amendments as well as providing General Counsel to the Boards on all apartment resale and refinance transactions. I was privileged to work for a law firm which afforded me the opportunity to provide quality legal services in a variety of capacities relating to the world of Real Estate transactions and finance.My responsibilities included:Acting as General Counsel and Transfer Agent for numerous Cooperative Corporations and Condominiums to ensure compliance with Federal, State and City laws and regulations as well as with their governing documents (ie. Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, Declarations, Proprietary Leases and House Rules).Drafting condominium offering plans and representing developers before the Investment Protection Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office in connection with their applications to convert properties to condominium ownership.Negotiating complex real estate contracts, leases and financing for the acquisition and sale of commercial and residential properties.Negotiating and drafting an assortment of contracts and agreements for select clients, including, but not limited to, construction contracts, laundry room lease agreements, HOA declarations, House Rule & Proprietary Lease amendments, easements and restrictive declarations.I am most proud of my ability to complete complicated real estate transactions which allow my clients to purchase or sell their dream home or business. I am also honored to have lectured for the Brooklyn Bar Association on the topic of cooperative transactions.

I began my legal career in the Mortgage Closing/Real Estate Department of this exceptional law firm.My responsibilities included:Representing major Institutional Lenders as legal counsel by insuring compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac & RESPA regulations enabling them to provide financing to close commercial and residential mortgage loans.Supervising a staff of eight employees in the Mortgage Closing Department which processed, annually, over $200 million in loan proceeds for purchases and refinances of commercial and residential real property and cooperative units. Coordinating with Title Company representatives, borrowers and City and State agencies to resolve title objections relating to Certificate of Occupancy discrepancies, judgments and Municipal Violations. Negotiating contracts and leases for the purchase and sale of commercial and residential property and cooperative units.During my tenure with the firm I also spent a considerable amount of time in the Personal Injury Litigation Department where I represented Plaintiffs in all aspects of personal injury litigations from Case Intake to trial, concentrating on jury selection, motion practice and depositions.
