My experience spans the entirety of the recruitment process, from initial screenings and assessments to participation in a multifaceted interview process, hiring negotiations, employment offers, onboarding and orientations. I also oversee the numerous administration and project management tasks that tie into recruitment, and collaborate closely with all of the County’s department representatives. I have been involved with filling county positions in areas as diverse as healthcare, IT, public works, and general administration, which has afforded me the opportunity to stay at the forefront of hiring trends within these fields. This role has allowed me to explore all areas of talent acquisition, and develop a great appreciation for it. Key Achievements and Project Involvement Include:• I have increased the amount of talent requisitions each year, which has alleviated manpower shortages and increased efficiency throughout the departments for which I recruit. From 2013 to 2015 I increased requisitions from 176 to over 200 (a 13.6% increase). • A project to completely update the County’s job descriptions was overseen by me, which involved performing detailed analysis and rewrites of hundreds of positions. • To increase hiring rates, I coordinated and led a hiring fair for a County care facility which dramatically improved candidate access and allowed me to fill 15 open positions in a highly efficient manner.

I oversaw all human resource and recruitment functions for this high-volume location. This included all elements pertaining to talent acquisition and hiring, employee relations, payroll, discipline, benefit management, training oversight, environmental safety, and regulatory compliance.I had sole discretion over most hiring decisions, and this was one of my largest responsibilities. I also regularly participated in job fair recruitment, community outreach, and networking events.As my areas of responsibility extended to high-level HR functions, I also kept current on most aspects of employment law and regulation, including FLSA, NLRA, EEO, ADA, and FMLA.Given the fact that I was serving in a retail setting, I also played a direct role in tracking metrics, including sales and profit projections, performance quotas, and departmental efficiencies. This involved detailed statistical analysis and close coordination with store and district management. Key Achievements and Project Involvement Included:• I achieved a 5th place ranking among 169 human resource coordinators in 2007, as listed in “Menards Values,” the companywide performance chart.• I decreased employee turnover year-over-year for each of my 7 years with the company.
