I am a doctoral researcher at the Center of Excellence in Polymer Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Houston, Houston, TX. My area of expertise focuses on the synthesis of nonpolar-polar block copolymers in continuous flow. I am also employed as a teaching assistant in the same department.Before joining UH, I completed my M.Phil. from BUET, Dhaka, Bangladesh. There, I had 5+ years of hands-on experience in synthesizing functionalized nanomaterials such as graphene oxide, silica nanoparticles, and nanocrystalline cellulose to prepare mechanically tough and self-healing nanocomposite hydrogels. In addition to my academic pursuits, I served at Notre Dame College, Dhaka, as a lecturer in chemistry for 9+ years, covering theoretical and laboratory courses in general and organic chemistry for grades 11 and 12.Over the years of my research and professional career, I have undertaken and solved numerous challenges that have helped me develop a diverse portfolio of skills and knowledge, as seen below: • Laboratory expertise (synthesis): block copolymers, late-transition metal complexes, nanocomposite hydrogels, organic and inorganic nanomaterials, general organic and inorganic compounds• Analytical techniques: SEC (GPC), NMR (1D, 2D, DOSY, Quantitative), FTIR, UV-Vis, TGA, DSC, SAXS, SEM, and UTM• Writing skills: experimental data recording and analysis; writing of technical reports; scientific paper and book chapter writing and publication; preparing presentations on research findings• Teaching experience: facilitate the theoretical and practical chemistry classes for secondary level students; supervise and train undergraduate students in an organic chemistry laboratory• Laboratory management: supervision of laboratory safety measurements; instrument maintenance, chemical supply ordering, and bookkeepingI am enthusiastic about exploring new opportunities, collaborating with professionals, and embracing challenges.
