I started working as Finance Manager at this boutique independent festival - managing all aspects of the finances including, budgets for marketing and production of the festival itself, tour accounts for the artists we managed, analysis of ticket customers as well as payroll, VAT and HMRC compliance.

My role at Ministry of Sound involved putting together the multi-million pound budgets for the record label, compilation and publishing companies and ensuring that these budgets were tracked accurately and updated by working closely with the heads of each department. The updated forecasts were reported weekly to the CFO and discussed in weekly meetings with the CEO and monthly management account reviews with the stakeholders.I also compiled detailed analysis of data relating record sales/streams and MOS' You Tube channels. My analysis was delivered to the CFO and CEO, enabling us to monitor performance but also forecast potential trends within the market.I also worked closely with the A&R department to put together a financial analysis on each potential new artist signing and overseas license.

Following an Administration Agreement with BMG, my role at Perfect Songs was no longer viable, and I was asked by the Directors of the group to take on Business Development for Music Bank - a rehearsal studio and equipment hire company. Although the company had been trading for over 20 years, the level of profit needed to be improved and a new premises found due to the expiry of the existing lease.I compiled P&L forecasts for a variety of new premises and business models, meeting with owner, Trevor Horn, as well as the Head of Finance and the General Manager, and fielding any questions they had regarding the proposed ideas. I also identified a commercial estate agent to assist in our search for a new home and analysed the various properties' suitability for our needs.At the same time I met with various existing contacts within the music industry to gain new clients for both the studios and the hire companies and also maintain those existing relationships. I was also asked to work with Trevor Horn directly on two events - one to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of his classic albums which was held within his SARM Studios in Notting Hill and the other was a live concert from his band at the Shepherd's Bush Empire where I worked with the artist, promoter and agent to ensure a very successful event.

I was employed to bring the administrative aspects of the publishing company up to speed and to ensure that all writer clients were accurately and promptly accounted to for any income and give them a direct point of contact for any enquiries they may have mad. This role expanded to include a similar role for the two record labels within the group, ZTT Records and Stiff Records.I reported directly to the Directors of the companies, Trevor Horn CBE, Ally Horn and Aaron Horn.

During my time working for this group of companies, my role evolved to take on responsibilities regarding the day to day operations of the companies, as well as helping to maintain existing business relationships and provide the support necessary to develop new opportunities.This included - monthly budget production and analysis, royalty accounting, negotiating licensing agreements, negotiating artist contracts, maintaining relationships with clients and third parties and also organising events for our companies at all levels - producing budgets/P&Ls, creative input and due diligence on any licenses or agreements required.
