Steve Frazier assumed duties as the CIO of the California Martime Academy in Vallejo, California on July 17, 2006. Located in Vallejo, California, Cal Maritime is a unique and specialized campus of The California State University that offers students bachelor’s degrees in business administration, facilities engineering technology, global studies and maritime affairs, marine engineering technology, marine transportation, and mechanical engineering. Cal Maritime is one of only seven degree-granting maritime academies in the United States — and the only one on the West Coast. For twenty-five years, Steve has served in academic computing positions at colleges and universities in five states. During this time, he has taught courses either as a full-time or a part-time instructor. He has also served as a programmer for administrative processes and academic projects as well as a manager of research at a business college. Prior to his appointment at Cal Maritime, Steve provided leadership for the Center for Instructional Technology at Eastern Connecticut State University.Steve provides leadership, planning, and management for all aspects of information technology at Cal Maritime including academic and administrative computing, telecommunications, data and voice networking, user support services, and technical aspects of distance and distributive education. He also serves on a number of university-wide committees including the President’s Advisory Board, WASC Steering Committee, IT Strategic Planning, Diversity Resource Council and Chargeback. Steve is also participates in the system-wide Information Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) of The California State University.
