Stephen has over 20 years’ experience of dealing with a broad spectrum of contentious and business critical matters involving real estate, finance and energy clients. He specialises in solving contractual and asset-related disputes including real estate, infrastructure and finance issues. International Arbitration and Court work feature regularly in his caseload. Stephen heads up the Litigation Department which includes 27 partners and 150 people delivering solutions across a range of contentious matters including Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Banking and Finance, Insolvency, Energy (Oil & Gas plus renewables), Commercial Litigation, professional negligence and debt recovery matters. He also sits on the Firm's operational board.Stephen and the team utilise the full range of dispute forum to achieve clients' objectives including driving cases through the Sheriff Court, Court of Session, Lands Tribunal and Land Court. He has conducted arbitrations and mediations throughout Scotland and worked on international arbitrations at a UK level through the LCIA and the ICC. Commercial debt recovery, Lease enforcement (including complex dilapidations and repairing issues) together with property portfolio debt recovery are also part of his repertoire.
