Accountable for all UK subsurface work for Exploration, Development & Production. Reported to the MD & measured on preparation of business plans in low oil price environment & sale of company. Directly managed 5 staff including Exploration Manager, Chief Geologist, Chief Geophysicist, Reservoir Engineering Manager, IT Manager and indirectly managed department of 70 staff. P&L responsibility for Exploration & IT.- Led business plan improvement initiative for sustaining 15k boepd UK equity production, and potentially doubling this through up to 110 mln boe /$1.3 bln net of planned developments, by focusing on value metrics, project optionality & matching of organisational staffing needs to sustained low oil & gas prices.- Led integration process for purchase of E.ON UK by Premier Oil, showcasing subsurface projects, processes & people, and guiding departmental staff through a challenging transition.

Built development & production capability for a small but rapidly growing company. Reported to General Manager & managed 12 staff including Project Coordinators in Norway, Russia & UK.- Built new development department and recruited 19 staff & consultants.- Brought a group of >10 disorganised assets (including Babbage & Huntington: UK North Sea, Njord & Skarv: Norway) under control, prioritising value-adding work for key decisions and providing strategic focus.- Delivered Tolmount as largest gas discovery in Southern North Sea in last 15 years .- Successful outcome to reserves redetermination of Yuzhno-Russkoye West Siberian giant gas field with Gazprom.- Raised standards, improved team focus and built partner alignment by defining & rolling out technical assurance process for subsurface developments.

Shareholder governance for ADCO venture in onshore giant oil fields of Abu Dhabi, producing 1.4 million barrels/day. Reported to Country Chair (MD) and worked autonomously and unsupervised. - Supported ADCO’s growth ambitions of additional 400,000 barrels/day of capacity through membership of several board committees providing expert advice, risk management & technical assurance for 24 ongoing development projects and pilots with 10 major decision gates per year.- Negotiated with BP, ExxonMobil, Total & Partex, partnering in Abu Dhabi Petroleum Co.- Prepared Shell’s business plans for ADCO upstream (gross $2-3 bln capex + $1.5 bln Opex) and GASCO midstream (gross $700 mln Capex + $300 mln Opex) joint ventures with economics, financials and SEC-compliant reserves reports.- Supported business development & negotiations on extension of existing production licence.

Reporting to Global Business Development Manager, led teams of up to 25 staff screening international business opportunities in Iraq, Malaysia, Indonesia and Equatorial Guinea. Successful bid for Majnoon project in Iraq. Technical Authority for Production Geology, providing assurance reviews and staff competency assessments.

Turned around a struggling the Shell Top 70 Bolia project, developing and executing a successful plan to appraise the complex multi-layer, faulted deep water oil & gas field, demonstrate Feasibility & align ExxonMobil, Agip & Total partners on the move into Concept Select.

Regional hydrocarbon habitat evaluation of the Nile Delta, following early exploration results that yielded small gas discoveries. Presented at Mediterranean Offshore Conference in April 02.

Deepwater Kebabangan/Kamunsu exploration & appraisal, offshore NW Sabah (Borneo). Kamunsu wells discovered 2.1 Tcf of GIIP and 100 million barrels STOIIP, tied back to the Kebabangan shallow-water hub in 2015-2016 in a cluster development.

Central North Sea evaluation leading to Madoes oil discovery, under joint well agreement with Phillips. The discovery of 42 million barrels + 33 Bcf was tied back to the Marnock CPF in ETAP Phase 2, with peak production of 24,500 bbls/d + 19.4 MMscf/d.

Operational support for an offshore drilling campaign of Exploration & Appraisal prospects, North Sea, as a member of a team responsible for well engineering & data gathering. Input to drilling programmes & well monitoring, including HPHT operations.

A single-string new venture based in Myanmar/Burma. Worked in a remote field location on Block G onshore seismic operations and covered aspects as wide-ranging as safety & forestry.
