👋Hullo, I'm Stephen. An empathetic and experienced Creative Producer, Senior Leader, Writer, Editor, Design Manager, Department Head, Designer and Researcher with a history working across game development, tech, football, book publishing, film and music industries. 🎓I have a BA & MA in English Language and Literature from King's College, Cambridge and subsequent qualifications from Columbia University NY, London School of Publishing and Liverpool John Moores University. 🕹️I have production, writing, design, research, editing, testing + proof-reading credits on multiple AAA and indie, chart-topping, BAFTA-nominated titles across PC/Mac/Linux, Microsoft/Xbox, PlayStation, Google Stadia, Steam, Epic, Nintendo, Mobile, VR + web platforms.⏳I’ve got experience leading, line-managing, hiring and putting together cross-functional teams large and small, developing creative projects from concept through design, implementation, iteration, testing, release and live-ops; developing and rolling out design, production and testing frameworks and delivering high-quality games, designs, text and features for iconic IP across multiple platforms with complex requirements in time-pressured environments. 📓My current role covers Production at an indie, focusing on our own IP as well as work for hire, collaborating with internal project teams, clients and partners to deliver varied products that ship on time. All while creating a positive, highly productive and empathetic culture in a growing business. I've recently led Production on the first FIFA-licenced game post-EA, a Karaoke mobile game, a VR Puzzle Adventure and a PC Narrative Card Game.🖋️I freelance as a producer, writer and copy/line editor across all media with a specialisation in the games, music and publishing industries. In 2020 I co-founded Warm & Powerful, a punk rock record label for books and I’ve been making music and touring in bands since 2003. I’ve also got experience performing scripted and improvised comedy and theatre across the UK and America. 🎥Over the years I’ve had extensive media experience across print, radio/podcast, web and television including Sky, CNN, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, Al Jazeera, L'Equipe, The Athletic etc.🛠️I have training and qualifications in project management approaches including Agile SCRUM, hybrid and Waterfall. 🎮I’m passionate about bringing people into Game Dev who may not realise they could have a career within it.
