In 1991, I launched desktop software for car dealers (Karpower) and created the country's first used car window sticker. Two years later, I introduced the first consumer edition of the Blue Book, which quickly became a top 10 national best-seller, and began the nationwide brand-building.In 1995, the first year of the world wide web, I created and launched kbb.com, which would go on to become the number one automotive information site in the U.S. I managed the site for 13 years, developing innovative ideas along the way, as there was no "blueprint" to follow. I created some of the Internet's initial e-Commerce (leads to car dealers, online insurance, finance), earliest online advertising (auto manufacturers), and the auto industry's first transparent pricing (Blue Book values on kbb.com and through syndication). Kbb.com was one of the first sites to give away its products to consumers for free, but grow revenues and profit substantially through creative B2B business models.I managed all facets of kbb.com, including offshore website development in China, product management and customer experience. Kbb.com garnered world-class Net Promoter scores for customer satisfaction.I also ran business development and marketing (online, offline, public relations) for Kelley Blue Book and was responsible for brand management for 17 years, as Blue Book became a household name. Largely because of the increased value of the Blue Book brand, the company's revenue and valuation increased more than 2000% during my tenure. Show less
