Working for over 25 years in the IT industry provides me a broad range of skills and experience that I can use to help other individuals and companies. I have worked for small, family-run businesses to international companies, in both the private and public sector.I have had the privilege of undertaking a public webinar for Google on the effective use of Google Sites. Google recognised my expertise in Google Sites and Google Workspace so invited me to its UK headquarters to lead the web presentation on how to use Google Sites and answer Google Sites related questions.My experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 has enabled me to help businesses both small and large move to the cloud. I was a member of a small team that helped The Southbank Centre - a world-leading arts organisation which has 29 million visitors a year – to choose an option for a cloud solution as part of their dynamic digital strategy. One they chose the preferred solution I helped The Southbank Centre to kickstart the migration to the cloud.Another cloud-based opportunity came as a company in the education sector wanted to overhaul its email system, document storage and website. Again "the cloud" was the natural choice so I helped them to move to its business critical data to Google Workspace. One of my most challenging and rewarding roles has been a Web Application Developer for the National Health Service (NHS). This provided opportunities to help the NHS share information with the public, provide secure intranets, with appropriate workflows, for the local NHS trusts and get great experience on the politics large, public sector organisations have to deal with.
