Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST) is a dynamic and rapidly growing Australian gold producer with a strong emphasis on high-grade, low-cost mines with robust margins and gold production for FY 2015 expected in excess of 550,000oz. Northern Star owns and operates the Paulsens, Plutonic, Kanowna Belle, Kundana, and Jundee gold mines in Western Australia. As IT Manager, I am responsible for all information technology systems and staff across all operations.

I lead a dynamic and highly skilled group of individuals in Perth and various operating mines that are responsible for supporting business critical ICT infrastructure, applications, and end-user support for over 3,000 users at Barrick operations in Australia and Papua New Guinea. The infrastructure team is responsible for supporting several hundred network devices, servers, over 40 VMware hosts, and SAN and Avamar backup systems across all regional sites. The service desk team is responsible for all first level support of infrastructure and key applications across all sites. In this role I work closely with the regional senior leadership team, site management, and application owners for ERP, document management, and other key business systems , to determine the business requirements that drive the ICT solutions that we provide.

My team supported and implemented all technology infrastructure for the Corporate office, and global implementation and operations for Active Directory, e-mail and e-mail archiving, software distribution, and auditing solutions. I led the global "Barrick Architecture Review Team" responsible for setting all technology standards for the organization.
