I have about 18 years of experience in law enforcement and security. I spent just over four years as a Master-at-Arms in the US Navy, about one year as a screener with the TSA, and over thirteen years as a Customs and Border Protection Officer with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). During my time with CBP, I served as a member of several counter terrorism response teams, and other specialized units within the agency engaged in intelligence gathering and analysis, targeting, interviewing a wide array of people, and cooperating with and assisting other governmental agencies in the pursuit of national security interests. I have extensive experience in the use of both open source and classified intelligence products, and producing reports and assessments. I also have extensive experience conducting interviews and inspections of people, property and conveyances, and have attended and excelled at a number of training courses to refine and enhance my skills in this area. These courses include Enhanced Communications (an advanced course in detecting deception and enhancing interview skills), Detecting Deception and Eliciting Response, and other intelligence and targeting based courses. I have always excelled in all of my training and have proven myself to be a fast, adaptive learner. I have also conducted training on a temporary basis as a Course Development Instructor at the CBP basic training academy, where I taught classes in tactics, interview skills, inspection of people and conveyances and other related subjects.
